Tips for Traveling in Summer

It’s summer time! It means lot of trips are coming on the way, so no matter where you’re going the skincare routine must be in your to-do list. Often, a trip results in sunburns, tanning, breakouts, flare ups, redness… So, the best way to avoid major damages to the skin is by preventing them with a solid plan for skincare before, during and after the trip, that way you can make sure to have a fresh skin look all the way out.

Have you heard “Traveling can be good for the soul but very hard for the skin”? For that reason, we bring you a series of tips to take care of your skin correctly:

1. Adjust your skincare routine.

Travelers should keep their skin routine as simple as possible, starting with sunscreen, cleansing, tonic, and ending with hydration.

2. Plan ahead.

Make sure that your carry-on luggage includes everything you need and that you have a new application of sunscreen on hand in your bag or glove compartment. With a simple routine, you can make room to enjoy the holidays and still keep your skin radiant and smooth.

3. Don’t Forget to Bring Creams and Moisturizers

Remember to pack a moisturizer and a high SPF sunscreen in summer trips. Putting on a moisturizer is the best and healthy base so that your sun protection products can sit perfectly on your skin. We recommend you to pack a trip kit of products so you can include as much nourishing and sun protection products as you can.

4. Carry essential accessories for summer

Alongside your skincare products, include in your luggage essential accessories such as sunglasses and hats that will protect the skin from sun exposure. If you consider there are any other essential accessories that can be included, don’t hesitate to, there is always room for extra help to protect your skin.

5. Improve hygiene during the plane.

Cleaning is everything, especially when it comes to recycled air on an airplane, it is recommended to wear micellar wipes to constantly clean your skin and hydrating masks to keep your skin protected during the flight.

6. Develop healthy hotel habits.

You could get rashes from using hotel toiletries that can aggravate sensitive skin, even if you are somewhere luxurious, it is important to be careful what kind of products you are applying to your skin.

Don’t rely on chemical loaded hotel wellness products. We understand there is a luggage limit to travel but as in the case of skincare products, carry a travel kit of wellness products so you can you can carry soap and shampoo that you use daily. If your favorite skin care products do not have travel size versions, it is a good idea to invest in some mini travel bottles that you can fill with the products you would normally use.

7. Protect yourself from the sun

Sunscreen is necessary all the time, no matter who or where you are, no matter the color of your skin or the layer of clouds. Although it seems that you never burn, the sun’s rays are real.

8. Take care of your eyes and lips

Long flights can provide an exhausting skin appearance, especially in sensitive areas such as eyes and lips. Therefore, remember to carry with you some eye drops and apply it when you feel that it is necessary so you can relax for some minutes. Also, put on your specialized eye cream and a lip essential product to protect your lips from getting dry or dull, this will help you to maintain them glowing and prevent any dryness.

9. Exfoliating is Key

Another key product is an exfoliator, you need to remove dead skin cells from the skin to avoid and dryness and breakouts. You want to avoid any dull skin during a trip, so a good exfoliation product can reduce skin irritation with its anti-inflammatory properties. Remember also to exfoliate the skin from your face and body, apply it in circular motions over the skin, do it at least ¡t 2 to 3 times during the trip (depending on how long time you will be out), your skin will look bright and beautiful.

10. Remove makeup before bed

This is a fundamental step, however, most of us forget to do it when we are at home, so imagine when we on a trip. Leaving makeup on while you go to bed can cause some severe damage to your skin. Therefore, you should always carry your detoxifying cotton pads or towelettes with makeup removal with you so you can clean your skin easily every night.
